Heatherwick studio has released an exciting line of extruded furniture produced by the largest extrusion machine in the world. The machine comes from the world of aviation manufacturing. These extruded aluminum benches exhibit wild biomorphic forms that are simply the result of the extrusion process. Once crafted, these benches are meticulously hand polished for at least 300 hours. These benches are remarkable but merely a step toward Heatherwick's goal of eventually producing a 100 meter bench made from a single material with no joints.
